Songkran tradition of Thai people that has been followed and passed down for a long time. Songkran is a word commonly used by ordinary people. But the full word is Trut Songkran meaning a ceremony to express congratulations on New Year’s Eve. Thai people used to count the 4th month, the 14th day of the waning moon, the 15th day of the waning moon, and the 1st day of the waxing moon of the 5th month they would invite monks to pray and make merit. Offer food and ask for blessings from the monks to be auspicious. It is assumed that Thai people accept Buddhism and followed some Lankan culture. Thai New Year’s Day or Songkran Day will be on the 13th, 14th and 15th of April every year by MOM Company have continued to carry on this good culture by organizing Songkran Day activities in all sites of MON Company. There is decoration of the place, dress and making merit.

Including the tradition of “pouring water on the hands”. It is a tradition of pouring water to pay respects to elders. It is a Thai tradition that comes from the Songkran tradition or Thai New Year’s Day that expresses respect for elders or those whom one respects and benefactor to express gratitude along with asking for forgiveness and ask for blessings for good fortune to own self on important days such as New Year’s Day or Thai Songkran Day in April. The employees joined together to pour water on hands of Executives team to ask for forgiveness and to receive blessings for their own prosperity according to the Songkran Day tradition on 10-15 April 2023.
